International Management: Culture, Strategy, and Behavior

No customer reviews yet

As a discipline of academy inquiry, International Management applies management concepts and techniques to their contexts in firms working in multinational, multicultural environments. Hodgetts and Luthans: International Management was the first mainstream International Management text in the market. Its 5th edition continues to set the standard for International Management texts with its research-based content and its balance between culture, strategy, and behavior. International Management stresses the balanced approach and the synergy/connection between the text’s four parts: Environment (4 chapters): Culture (4 chapters), Strategy and Functions (4 chapters) and Organizational Behavior /Human Resource Management (5 chapters).

New Features

All chapters have been revised and updated to reflect the latest research on global businesses. Most contain 20-30 new references, as well as real-world examples and research results, in each of the chapters.

The first four chapters on the Environment have been greatly revised and include mention of the recent US tragedy where appropriate to the topic or content under discussion.

All-new chapter opening vignettes come from Business Week magazine. These recent, relevant short news stories show how chapter topics relate to the real world of business and get students immediately interested in the chapter material, which leads to active and attentive reading.

Longer end-of-part cases are featured. These cases are designed for high interest discussion and strategic analysis. Unlike the shorter end-of-chapter cases that can be read and discussed in class, these cases are often recommended for reading outside of class and then discussed in depth. They further help students relate text material to the real world of international management.
