Grace wants nothing more than to have a ferret of her very own. "They're too stinky," her mother would say. "What if it bites the dog?" Grace's sister would say. Her father's answer was the one she dreaded most of all. "It will crawl into the wall and die." Still, ferrets filled her mind, and danced through her dreams.
