Jessica is sixteen and wishes she could swap the pressures of high school for a return to the simplicity of kindergarten. Jessica is six and wishes she could trade the tedious routine of kindergarten for all that fun and excitement "big kids" have in high school.

Both wish they could trade places, and through the power of the locket given to Jessica when she was born, they get the chance. As both versions of the same girl experience school in their false years, they come to realize what they risk losing in the switch.

The day before Valentine's, teenage Jess transforms into a kindergarten student with the mind of a sophomore in high school, her hasty wish granting her six-year-old self the ability to interact with the "big kid" versions of Rye, teenage Jess' boyfriend of a year and a half, and Chloe, her longtime best friend who both Jessicas fear may catch on to their tricks. As a high school student with the mind of a kindergartener, six-year-old Jess is a mess- but will she regret her wish? Will her older self blame the younger for any mistakes left behind?
