Katinka Refugee Princess, the story of a young Russian émigré', is a wonderful depiction of the importance of hard work and holding one's head high above the treatment of others. Throughout this beautiful story, readers will become immersed in each section as Irina and Katinka share their efforts to bring Camilla to their home. As the story progresses, the characters development is evident when Katinka goes to work at the factory so that she may help her mother to better their lives. The importance of recognizing kindness is revealed as Irina is rewarded for her treatment of an elderly woman as she approaches the store.
