Movies On My Mind: My First Dozen Years as a Film Critic For the Easton Irregular 1998-2010

From Titanic to Black Swan; from Stanley Kubrick to David Fincher, writer Joe R. Frinzi has covered it all through his monthly film column, "The Art of Cinema," which has appeared since 1998 in The Easton Irregular, the Lehigh Valley's premiere Arts publication. Now, gathered together for the first time in Movies On My Mind, here are Joe's personal observations on everything from Fritz Lang's silent classic Metropolis, to such state-of-the-art animated wonders as Pixar's WALL*E. In addition to scores of informative film reviews over cinema's one hundred year history, the author also explores a number of topics (i.e. widescreen vs. pan & scan videos; offbeat films that ignore the standard three-act structure; and the history of women behind the camera). There are examinations of cheesy movies as well as Shakespeare, film vs. digital projection and even speculations about the end of home video as we know it. Whether you're a serious film buff or simply a casual moviegoer, Movies On My Mind has something of interest for just about everyone.
