There Was No-one: Selected poems

There Was No-one includes poems of the joy and hardship of a childhood lived in the embrace of nature and Xhosa tradition; poems of political struggle and its dangers; and vivid portraits of people battling to survive in post-apartheid Eastern Cape townships. Many of the later poems lament the loss of traditional values and the erosion of political ideals.
