Self-Importance is the enemy within-subtle, insidious, and relentless. It blinds us, wastes our time, clouds our judgment, and even leads us into danger. Many seekers set out on the path of spiritual growth only to be deceived-mistaking charlatans for teachers, or surrendering to false gurus who feed on their trust. Toltec sorcery names Self-Importance as one of the greatest obstacles to freedom. To break its grip, warriors gather in a sorcerer's party-a band of seekers led by a Nagual. The Nagual is not a guru, but a being of expanded awareness-one who perceives dimensions of reality hidden from ordinary sight. This perception is not mystical fantasy but a radical expansion of consciousness beyond the limits of culture and reason. Just as quantum physics reshaped science, the Nagual's vision reshapes reality. It reveals that our ordinary life is only a fragment of what can be known.
