Shaming Justice: The Arizona State Bar and Supreme Court

Do you think your gifted daughter or, for that matter, your son, should practice law? In recent years, the Department of Justice (DOJ) has scrutinized some Southern and Eastern state bars for noncompliance with the Americans With Disabilities Act. The DOJ has taken action against several state bars for imposing special conditions on licensure of individuals with past mental or substance issues-a form of second-class bar membership. As of 2015, however, the ADA is still not scrupulously observed in many states.
