Rutland

Rutland's history began in 1686, when this
twelve-square-mile tract of land was purchased from the Naquag Indians at a cost of 80[ per square acre. Since then, this once small Massachusetts village has continued to flourish into the rural town it is today. In Rutland, local author Bernice M. Anderson
