Massena

Overlooking the St. Lawrence River, Massena emerged from its quiet beginnings to become the region's center for tourism, commerce, and industry. With vintage photographs, Massena documents the people, places, and events that shaped this northernmost New York State town. Shown are early sightseers and seekers of health from the mineral springs; the Aluminum Company of America (Alcoa), which arrived before Reynolds Metals; General Motors; and, of course, the St. Lawrence Seaway and Power Projects.
