This project analyses the changes in Genevan baptismal practices and then uses that analysis as an entrance into the consideration of the place of children in sixteenth-century Genevan society. The main purpose of this approach is to provide a study of the relationship between theology and practice. Ultimately, this study's focus on children and their parents and guardians significantly transforms our understanding of sixteenth-century Genevan society, Calvinism and the Protestant Reformation.
