Author Sister M. Amelia Klenke suggests that the presence of liturgy and allegory in Perceval may possibly indicate that Chrétien was experiencing spiritual growth. Her premise for such an analysis is Urban T. Holmes's assertion that Chrétiens work deals with the conversion from Judaism to Christianity. This study hence concerns itself with the presence of Dominican liturgy in Chrétien's work.
