Around Our Way on Neighbors' Day: A Picture Book

Inspired by the Miami neighborhood she grew up in, author Tameka Fryer Brown teams up with illustrator Charlotte Riley-Webb to celebrate the joy, rhythm, and diversity of a close-knit community in Around Our Way on Neighbors' Day.

On a hot summer day, neighbors come together for a lively block party. Kids jump rope and chase the ice-cream truck, friends gather at the barbershop to talk and play chess, families cook and share favorite foods, and music drifts through the streets as everyone joins in the celebration.

The story follows a young narrator as the neighborhood comes alive with movement, sound, and connection. Told in rhythmic, lyrical language and brought to life with vibrant illustrations, Around Our Way on Neighbors' Day highlights everyday moments that reflect friendship, pride, and belonging.

This picture book invites young readers to notice the magic in their own communities and appreciate the people who make a neighborhood feel like home.
