Cape Disappointment Light: The First Lighthouse in the Pacific Northwest

Fog often cloaks the lighthouse nicknamed Cape D. It overlooks the Columbia River near Ilwaco, Washington--one of the most dangerous bodies of water in the world. Ships sailing these waters often crashed before Cape D was built to guide them to safety.
