Population, Labour and Migration in 19th and 20th Century Germany

Edited by Klaus J. Bad, this volume summarises the debate about the causes of population changes, labour and migration in Germany. The authors show that the large influx of foreign workers during the last twenty-five years is only the latest manifestation of a long-term trend whose roots can be traced as far back as the early 19th century.
