Plautus: Pseudolus

Pseudolus, the most Plautine of Plautus' plays, is his masterpiece. Rudens may be better constructed, Bacchides more Menandiran, Casina more broadly funny, but for the special qualities of Plautus: wit, vigour, invention, the charm of low life characters, Pseudolus is supreme.
