Readings in Modern Chinese Literature: Plays and Poems Volume 1

Readings in Modern Chinese Literature is designed as a textbook for the student who, after several semesters of study, has acquired sufficient knowledge of Chinese and is now ready to approach reading original plays, poems and short stories. This volume includes four plays and eleven poems. Each selection is provided with vocabulary notes and a short introduction about the author in English. The selections are preceded by a brief survey of modern Chinese drama and poetry.
