Guide to Telecommunications Transmission Systems

This work offers a study of all five forms of transmission systems currently in use: copper lines, optical fibre, radio relay, mobile radio and satellite. The book first presents an overview of telecommunications and of transmission carrier equipment in general, and then moves on to provide a chapter-by-chapter examination of each transmission system in detail, from principal characteristics and underlying technologies, to specific applications.
