Uni Verse

UniVerse is the first collection of the early poems of the passionate and outspoken poet, Dajenya. Inspired by direct personal experience as a queer woman born to an African-American father and a Euro-American mother at a time, (1953), when such marriages were rare, Dajenya's poetry takes on issues of race, sexuality, spirituality, trauma, drug recovery, friendship, and her strong feelings about war, patriarchy and more. This collection, her first to be published, contains some of her best poetry from the years 1965 through 2000.
