Ear Training Vol. I: Scale Forms through Six Basic Tetrachords [With 2 CD's]

This three volume 11-CD Ear Training Course, of which Volume I is the introductory volume, is meant for the serious-minded musician. Its primary mission is to help students hear, identify, play and sing scales, modes, intervals, and chords. In addition, it provides the foundation for excellence in music performance, insights into improvisation, and a better understanding of melodic and harmonic invention.

Volume I and its 2-CD set explains how six simple four-note forms (tetrachords) are combined and assembled into modern scales and performing modes through the study of ear training. Upon the completion of this introductory volume, the student becomes more aware of the basic rudiments of melodic and harmonic invention and is prepared aurally for the ensuing volumes entitled, Volume II - Ear Training: Twelve Basic Interval Sounds to Master and Volume III - Ear Training: Capturing the Basic Chord Qualities.
