Young Gold found the light after overcoming a lot of drama, and experiencing many threatening events as a child. Despite the absence of his father, and being influenced by many negative role model men that his mother was involved with, he struggled most of his life to escape the drug and violent activities of the streets that took the lives or freedom from so many men around him. In the story Young Gold focuses on setting high marks academically and athletically both in high school and college with the help of the Ole Man, to fight the temptation of the fast money lifestyle that hindered his family through many generations.
