I Wish To Be Me

The First Little Lee book explores Lee's struggles with listening to his mother and following rules like going to bed, brushing his teeth, and more. One night, at bedtime, Little Lee begins think about all the things and people he wishes to be other than himself. The book effectively shows the importance of self-love and self-acceptance, encouraging children to embrace their true selves and appreciate the wonderful things they have. Lee thinks it would be great to be all these other things until he realizes that he would miss his dog, miss his bed and so much more if he were not himself. He realizes he would also make his parents sad. Ultimately, Lee learns that he would be happiest just being the best Lee that he can be.
