Confrontation

It's been four years since Gabriella Neumann saved the life of her husband, Michael, with the mind expanding Ulysses virus. Now, around the globe close to a million people have undergone the Transformation. Assaulted from every corner of society, the so-called Voyagers must find a means to survive in a world challenging the inevitable evolution of humanity. Confrontation tells the story of three individuals caught up in the maelstrom: Dawn, a down on her luck waitress; Tom, a Navy Seal recruited by General Scott for the newly revived Achilles Project; and, Cheryl, the fast-rising Senator's aide who stands with feet in both worlds and will be torn apart if she can't come to terms with her conflict. Against this backdrop Michael and Gabby battle forces both seen and unseen as they rush headlong toward their uncertain future confronting obstacles and each other every step of the way. Confrontation continues the journey begun in Connections exploring the nexus of biology and technology in a world steeped in cynical self-dealing and poses the question: Can there be hope for the survival of our species?
