Prevailing Westerlies: Fine Art Photographs

Stunning American West Black and White Photography

The clarity of Ed Lavino's images conveys an intensity of feeling that commands attention. His photographs speak of a longing to be part of the natural world while questioning and challenging our destructiveness. Prevailing Westerlies conveys a remarkable knowledge of people and places of the Rocky Mountain West that comes from long familiarity and close observation.

There is something beautifully harmonious in each of these landscapes.

Lavino's mastery of the black and white image equals that of the best 20th-century photographers, yet his work is decidedly modern. His unconventional intellect and perspective will transfix and delight, compelling you to view these photographs time and again.
