From Camden to Kathmandu: You Don't Have to Know Where You're Going, To Get Where You Want to Be

You don't need to know the destination to begin the journey.

In this thought-provoking Western lawyer in Asia memoir, Bruce Berlin leaves behind a promising legal career to answer a deeper calling-one that can't be mapped or planned. From Camden to Kathmandu chronicles his passage from American courtrooms to Himalayan monasteries, capturing a life-defining quest for truth, transformation, and spiritual grounding.

Guided by Buddhist teachings and driven by the hungry ghost of spiritual longing, Berlin's path winds through Europe, India, and Nepal. Along the way, he trains with Lama Yeshe and Thubten Zopa Rinpoche, immerses himself in Vipassana meditation, and confronts questions of identity and purpose.

This is not just a travel memoir-it's a meditation on becoming. Readers searching for a deeper sense of self, or a finding your purpose book that speaks from real-life experience, will find Berlin's journey both relatable and revelatory.
