Manual of Classical Erotology

Explore the intimate world of ancient Greece in Friedrich Karl Forberg's "Manual of Classical Erotology (De figuris Veneris)," a landmark study of sexual behavior and customs. This meticulous examination, a cornerstone of classical erotology, delves into the social science and history surrounding Greek sex customs.

Forberg's work offers a detailed exploration of the figures of Venus, providing a window into a culture vastly different, yet surprisingly similar, to our own. This republication presents a carefully prepared text, preserving the integrity of Forberg's original scholarship.

A valuable resource for students of history, sociology, and anyone interested in the evolution of human sexuality, "Manual of Classical Erotology" remains a significant contribution to our understanding of ancient Greek society. Its frank and insightful approach makes it a compelling read for those seeking a deeper understanding of the past.
