Ecology and Flora of Qornayel, Lebanon - Al Salam Village

A village situated in Qornayel, within Mount Lebanon, was founded in 2003, integrating seamlessly with the exceptional natural environment of the region. The area's distinctive geological formations, rugged valley cliffs, verdant vegetation, and varied plant species have influenced the author, who has been conducting ecological and botanical research in the locality since 2009.

This publication acts as a comprehensive reference to the flora of Al Salam Village in Qornayel, offering novel insights into local species supported by photographic documentation obtained during field surveys led by the author. Additionally, it covers topics such as geology, cultural heritage, forest ecosystems, rock types, wildlife, and plant nomenclature. The study catalogued 160 species with 334 photos, representing approximately 6.1% of Lebanon's total flora. The findings highlight the importance of ongoing conservation initiatives and ecological monitoring to safeguard Qornayel's biodiversity.
