Outnumbered From Day One: An Honest Guide to Life with Twins

Most books about twins are American. Most parenting books are written as if everything went smoothly. This one is neither.

Outnumbered From Day One is the UK's only stage-by-stage guide to life with twins from the moment you find out you're expecting two, through pregnancy, birth, the hospital stay, and every exhausting, extraordinary stage to eighteen months. Written by a British twin parent from lived experience, it covers what you actually need to know rather than what sounds reassuring.

Across fifteen chapters, the book takes twin parents through the practical realities of each stage: what equipment you need and what you don't, how to survive the newborn period with two, feeding, sleep, routines, weaning, babyproofing, getting out of the house, toddler behaviour, language development, and everything in between. UK-specific throughout, with references to British products, services, NHS pathways, and the realities of raising twins in this country.

Honest in tone and direct in voice, it does not pretend that twin parenting is straightforward, nor does it catastrophise. It is the book that fills the gap between the sanitised and the alarming: practical, researched, and written by someone who has been in exactly the position the reader is in.

A companion website at outnumberedfromdayone.co.uk hosts regularly updated equipment lists, toy guides, downloadable trackers, and resources that would date quickly in print.

For parents expecting twins or raising twins from birth to eighteen months. UK-specific.
