Haverin: 40 years of the Glasgow SF Writers' Circle

An anthology of tales from the Glasgow SF Writers' Circle celebrating their fortieth anniversary in 2026. From writers who were there at the start to some who have only just joined the Circle, these stories span the genre spectrum from fantasy to science fiction, horror to weirdness. Eclectic is most definitely the word. In HAVERIN you will find Chinese and European mythology, heroic cats, over-clever scientists, mothers both good and bad, estate agents, mysterious aliens, and a pie we would not recommend trying.

Some of these tales are set in Scotland, but not all. Most are written in standard British English, but a few are written in modern Scots, which is the language that gives us our title. HAVERIN means talking nonsense, babbling or chattering. These stories offer a range of all the GSFWC has produced, in people and fiction, over the last forty years. Much, but not all, may be considered to be HAVERIN.
