Undertow: A Murder Mystery

The Wenham children - Melissa, Robert, Edward and Leonard - are born into a family where their future lives seem to have been laid out by a bullying and overbearing father. When he dies unexpectedly, their mother remarries her former employer, who is the first of many who isn't who he seems.
The other three younger siblings have talents which will move them from their home in Rokeby, a Yorkshire mill town, to the city of Crowbridge. Here, they become involved with Robert's art lecturer Carina Conti, Melissa's employer library manager Graham Tunstall and the head of the city art gallery, Suzy Martin.
Then Robert disappears.
Mr. Tunstall goes to the police with Melissa to try and find him. Eventually, his body is discovered, dismembered, in Crowbridge canal.
The police, at first uninterested in the murder, become positively obstructive after they're confronted by Mr. Tunstall.
At this point Melissa begins to suspect things are not as she believed between Carina, Graham and Suzy. Do they know each other? Did Robert know all three or only Carina?
On a course at the local polytechnic, Melissa meets Charlotte Mathers, a talented fashion student and notable straight-talker. Eddie falls in love with her on sight.
Fate takes Eddie and Melissa down ever diverging paths - Eddie to musical stardom, and Melissa with Lottie into the world of high fashion. Only Len remains in Rokeby, following the ambitions of his father.
Lottie finally discovers a policeman who is prepared to look deeper into Robert's death, and one by one, the identities of the suspects begins to change. Melissa, Eddie and Lottie are flung head first into a maelstrom of twists and turns which make for events unimaginable at the story's beginning.
And every event is haunted by the enduring mystery of Robert's death, and who is involved and why.
