Captain Penelope

Penelope Penguin has one big dream: to FLY. But penguins aren't built for the sky... or are they?

From the very bottom of the world to the very top, join one determined little penguin as she takes to the air in her bright red aeroplane. Soar with Penelope over Welsh mountains and Mumbai spice stalls, through drifting cherry blossom and the beat of carnival drums - all the way to a very special hello at the North Pole.

A joyful, rhyming adventure about chasing the impossible, Captain Penelope: The Flying Penguin celebrates big dreams, small heroes and the wonderful places imagination can take us.

Perfect for reading aloud, this beautifully illustrated picture book takes children aged 3-7 on a journey around the world, with something new to spot on every page. Little adventurers will cheer Penelope on from take-off to touchdown - and may just start dreaming up expeditions of their own.

The story was dreamed up on the way to school by five-year-old Cara and her dad - proof that the best ideas can come from anywhere, and that with a little help, they really can become real.

A gorgeous gift for birthdays, christenings and Christmas, and a story to return to at bedtime again and again.
