The Somerset Barn is a memoir that is site specific exploration of a dilapidated barn in Somerset. It draws together poetry, photography and prose and the author's lived experience. The Barn sits in a commanding position on top of the Mendip Hills and has attracted Morag's attention over many years. The series of essays, diary entries, poems and photographs are embedded in relationship with the Barn's location, its history and geology. Morag relates her lived experience to central issues of our time; shelter, water, fuel, food, climate change and asks how we got here and could we have done more?
