On a muggy early spring evening, in the small rural town of Augusta, Nova Scotia, something begins to stir in the soil. Within days, pets vanish, livestock is found stripped to the bone, and people begin to go missing. As local Police Chief Vincent Fraser and his team investigate the tragic events, they discover what appear to be unusually large June bugs. Their discovery is more chilling than anyone could imagine, as the June bugs haven't just mutated, but they're evolving, and developing a taste for human flesh.
