Antidote Against Deism: In A Series Of Letters To The Editor

An Antidote Against Deism: In A Series Of Letters To The Editor is a book written by Neil Douglas, aimed at countering the growing influence of deism in the 18th century. The book is structured as a series of letters addressed to the editor of a newspaper, in which Douglas argues against the deist belief that God created the universe but does not intervene in its affairs. He presents a Christian perspective, emphasizing the importance of divine revelation and the need for a personal relationship with God. Douglas also critiques the deist view of morality, arguing that it is insufficient without a belief in God's ultimate judgment. The book is a significant contribution to the religious debate of its time and provides insight into the intellectual and cultural climate of the 18th century. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
