Pennsylvania In Self Defense: An Appeal To The Legislature And The People Upon The Rights Of Labor (1859) is a book written by Jacob Dewees. The book is a call to the people and the government of Pennsylvania to recognize and respect the rights of laborers. Dewees argues that the working class is being unfairly treated by employers and the government, and that this mistreatment must be addressed. The book outlines the various ways in which laborers are being exploited, including low wages, poor working conditions, and lack of job security. Dewees also discusses the importance of unions and collective bargaining as a means of protecting the rights of workers. The book is a passionate plea for justice and fairness for working people, and remains a valuable historical document of the labor movement in Pennsylvania in the mid-19th century. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
