Apostolic Fathers V1: I Clement, II Clement, Ignatius, Polycarp, Didache, Barnabas

The Apostolic Fathers V1 is a collection of ancient Christian texts that date back to the first and second centuries AD. The book includes six works: I Clement, II Clement, Ignatius, Polycarp, Didache, and Barnabas. These texts are considered to be some of the earliest Christian writings outside of the New Testament and offer valuable insights into the beliefs and practices of the early church. I Clement and II Clement are letters written by early Christian leaders to the church in Corinth. They address issues such as division within the church and the need for unity and obedience to God. Ignatius was a bishop who wrote seven letters to various churches while he was being taken as a prisoner to Rome. These letters emphasize the importance of unity, obedience to church leaders, and the true nature of Christ. Polycarp was a bishop of Smyrna who was martyred for his faith. His letter to the Philippians encourages them to remain steadfast in their faith and to persevere through persecution. The Didache is a manual of Christian teachings and practices that provides insight into the early church's beliefs on baptism, the Lord's Supper, and church leadership. Barnabas is a letter that emphasizes the importance of living a holy life and following God's commandments. The book is edited and translated by Kirsopp Lake, a renowned scholar of early Christian texts. The Apostolic Fathers V1 is a valuable resource for anyone interested in the history and development of Christianity.Text In English And Greek.
