Struggle In Congress Over Abolition Petitions

"The Struggle In Congress Over Abolition Petitions" examines the intense political battles that unfolded in the United States Congress during the 19th century as a result of the growing anti-slavery movement. This historical work by Clarence Edwin Carter delves into the strategies, debates, and key figures involved in the congressional debates surrounding abolition petitions. It sheds light on the complex dynamics between pro-slavery and anti-slavery factions, and how these conflicts contributed to the escalating tensions that eventually led to the Civil War.

Carter's detailed analysis provides valuable insights into the political and social climate of the era, making it an essential read for anyone interested in understanding the roots of American slavery and the fight for its abolition.
