Stingray

Stingrays spend most of their lives resting on the seafloor. These gentle creatures, which resemble large pancakes, possess electrosense. This sense allows them to hunt for creatures that are buried under the sand and not moving. Though they are relatives of the shark and have a whiplike tail capable of wounding, students will learn why these creatures and their dwindling habitats need to be protected.
