In late summer of the year 2000, Canadian doctor Margaret Kerr embarks on a journey of discovery in Scotland's Border Country. Three days into the walking tour, she becomes separated from her fellow travelers. Threatened by a fast-moving thunderstorm, she seeks aid at a farmhouse, fenced and hidden in a grove of trees.
