Neoplatonism In Ruysbroeck Through The Intermediary Of St. Augustine

""Neoplatonism in Ruysbroeck through the Intermediary of St. Augustine"" is a book written by A. Wautier D'Aygalliers. It explores the influence of Neoplatonism on the works of the medieval Flemish mystic, Jan van Ruysbroeck, through the lens of the writings of St. Augustine. The book delves into the philosophical and theological concepts of Neoplatonism, such as the hierarchy of being, the role of the soul, and the quest for union with the divine. It also examines the ways in which Ruysbroeck incorporated these ideas into his own mystical writings, and how he adapted them to fit within the Christian framework of his time. Through a close analysis of Ruysbroeck's works and Augustine's influence, the book offers a comprehensive understanding of the mystical and philosophical traditions that shaped medieval spirituality.THIS 18 PAGE ARTICLE WAS EXTRACTED FROM THE BOOK: Ruysbroeck the Admirable, by A.
