Irenicum Or Pacificator Being A Reconciler As To Church Differences

The Irenicum or Pacificator is a book written by Edward Stillingfleet that aims to reconcile the differences between different factions within the Church. Published in 1662, the book argues that despite the various disputes and disagreements that have arisen within the Church, there are still underlying principles and beliefs that can bring people together. Stillingfleet suggests that by focusing on these shared beliefs and values, it is possible to achieve greater unity and harmony within the Church. The book covers a range of topics, including the nature of the Church, the role of bishops and other clergy, and the relationship between Church and State. Throughout the text, Stillingfleet draws on a wide range of sources, including biblical texts, historical documents, and the writings of other theologians and scholars. Ultimately, The Irenicum or Pacificator offers a thoughtful and nuanced perspective on the challenges facing the Church in the 17th century, and remains a valuable resource for anyone interested in the history of Christianity or the ongoing debates within the Church today. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
