Brand New Fence

Brand New Fence is a collection of poetry that touches our hearts, stings our souls, and pokes fun at society for taking life so seriously. Ward's poems depict everyday people and those moments (good and bad) we often overlook. With subtle imagery and cutting diction, Ward's poems remind us of life's simplicities during our most trying times. One boy recalls the taste of his spearmint gum after the death of his mother; another man pleads for a new pair of underwear because, well, he's desperate for something fresh, new, and long-lasting; and then there's Charlie, the high school dropout who continues his failing ways, living as a legend in any small town across America.
