In Quiet Places: Selected Landscape Paintings of GC Myers 2003-2008

84 pages with 89 paintings presented in full color. The landscape paintings of well-known contemporary American artist GC Myers from the years 2003-2008. A self-taught painter, GC Myers is best known for his evocative, symbolic landscapes that are often emotionally charged. His work is characterized by bold use of colors, strong lines and an idiosyncratic way of seeing things. This book features his signature "Redtree", a lone tree that stands apart from most others while taking on a human persona, as well as his "Red Roof" series and his most recent group of work, "Archaeology", which features a placid landscape set seemingly in the distant future with the ground below exposing the archaeology that lies there-- a wealth of items and shapes, all familiar and waiting to be discovered
