Bible, The Church And The Reason: The Three Great Fountains Of Divine Authority (1892)

The Bible, The Church And The Reason: The Three Great Fountains Of Divine Authority is a book written by Charles Augustus Briggs in 1892. The book explores the three sources of divine authority that have shaped Christianity throughout history. The Bible is considered the primary source of authority for Christians, as it contains the teachings and message of God. The Church, on the other hand, is seen as a secondary source of authority, as it is the institution that interprets and teaches the message of the Bible. Finally, reason is also considered a source of authority, as it allows individuals to use their own judgment and understanding to interpret the teachings of the Bible and the Church. Briggs argues that these three fountains of divine authority are interdependent and must be used together in order to fully understand and live out the teachings of Christianity. The book is a valuable resource for anyone interested in exploring the foundations of Christian theology and the role of authority in religious belief. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
