Paying The Pastor: Unscriptural And Traditional (1885)

Paying The Pastor: Unscriptural And Traditional is a book written by James Beaty and originally published in 1885. The book is a critical examination of the practice of paying pastors in the Christian church. Beaty argues that the idea of paying pastors is not supported by the Bible and is instead a tradition that has been passed down through the centuries. He contends that paying pastors creates a hierarchy within the church and can lead to corruption and abuse of power. Beaty also explores alternative models of church leadership and suggests that pastors should be supported by the community through voluntary contributions rather than through a formal salary. The book is a thought-provoking critique of a long-standing tradition in Christianity and offers a fresh perspective on the role of pastors and the structure of the church. Despite being over a century old, Paying The Pastor: Unscriptural And Traditional remains relevant and insightful for modern readers interested in the history and theology of the Christian church. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
