English Setter - A Complete Anthology of the Dog

The gentle, feathered English Setter is a classic bird dog, bred to quarter the moor and set game for the gun. The English Setter gathers the scattered early literature of the breed - its history, description, character and management - into a single readable volume.

These collected accounts range across the English Setter's history and origins, its description and character, and the practical business of rearing, breeding and showing it, assembled from the works of the fanciers and authorities who knew the breed best.

This edition features:

• Brings the breed's foundational writers together in one collection.
• Covers the breed's history, origins, description and character.
• Includes period guidance on breeding, rearing and showing.
