Huntington's My Dog and I (1897), Arthur Craven's Dogs of the World (1931) and Walter Hutchinson's Hutchinson's Dog Encyclopaedia (1935). These are the hounds that hunt by nose rather than sight, worked in packs on hare and in ones and twos on a line, on both sides of the Atlantic.
