Sambo is a rewrite of a book written by Helen Bannerman in 1899. In this book Sambo is a little boy from Andaman Islands of the Bay of Bengal in India. He outwits four lions. The little boy has to give his cool new clothes and umbrella to four tigers so they will not eat him up. Sambo recovers his paraphernalia when the tigers fight about whom the grandest tiger in the Jungle is. They chase each other around a tree until they are reduced to a pool of butter.
