You will be remembered for This: A collection of visitations

Time. Schedules. Deadlines. Plans. Appointments. We live in a world pre-arranged, pre-determined. A world in which we decide when or if things take place. We decide...or so we like to think. It reinforces our confidence in the illusion that we are in control of our lives and the events that surround them. But it is not so... "You will be remembered for this." With these six simple words, Reality as I had known it ceased to exist forever. Until that moment, my life had been lived much like yours I imagine: taking momentary notice of Life's odd occurrences and then dismissing them with one of many rational explanations born of a lifetime of dismissing such events- or simply ignoring them altogether. Not this time. Not this event. This one did not fit. This one defied rational explanations; indeed, it chipped away at each one until the attempt at dismissal crumbled into dust and was carried away on the memory of the warm breeze of that fateful day. This odd occurrence screamed out for recognition, demanded acknowledgement. It had occurred and would not be denied! In fact, it stubbornly remained in the forefront of my thoughts to such an extent that I found myself unable to remove it to a place better reserved for such 'insignificant' encounters.
