Snatched as a young child from a loving family, Julen longs to be freed from slavery and to have a home and family of her own. Watching from the shadows of the great house, she imagines what it would be like if her master's son Damon just looked her way and smiled. But Damon prepares for the voyage of his life-one that will carry him to places he never imagined, and one that will entangle both their lives in a sinister plot to overthrow the kingdom of Bellacosa.
